Pro Pellets

Hi all. The local TSC has a haul of Pro Pellets from Michigan. I've got no info on these as I've not seen them before. Any one got the low down on em ? As I remember I thought I read they were well received by some of the fine folks here but a quick search didn't turn up much. I may grab a ton if the price is right and stash for next year in case I'm unable to talk Somerset to ship to NY. again.

Burned 3 tons of them this year, but as this was my first year with pellets I really did not know what to expect! I think DexterDay had said they were a decent pellet. I did think they were a better pellet then some of the other ones I picked up later in the year.

Schoon....I've never burned them but I think those are usually a pretty decent pellet. Can you try a couple bags? My local TSC had some earlier in the season but wouldn't let me grab a few bags, instead they had single bag sales of Green Supreme.....

 

Doggy, I burned some a few years back.....good, decent middle of the road pellet. BTW, they are all Eric at Kinsman Stoves sells/burns....he swears by them. Have any other questions, give him a call.

Thanks folks. I've gotta get the price. Nitro it looks like the air part will be no problem with the new settings Quad has for the e2 Gary and I have.

I've burned them and Magic Sparks...they did ok for me

 

Pretty sure we've never had them around here. Does anyone have a good picture of what the bag looks like? I would also like to hear your thoughts on them if you pick up a few bags to test with.

 

I usually get them in the fall for $190 a ton.

 

Thanks Jay. Doesn't look like he carries them anymore. If I ever do come across these, I am going to pick some up. Based on the info here, they are a real score.

 

I'm with Dex. I've only burned a few bags, but the heat was almost on par with the Sets. I'd personally grab multiple tons if I found them at a decent price again.

 

I burned a couple of tons this year as these were the best deal to be had around here by far at $200/ton. As with years past, I found the heat output nearly on par with Sets but this year I got ash cakes with them I've never had before. Neighbor burned them and experienced the same thing in a different model stove. That said, I'd burn 'em again without question.

 

I've gone through around 3.5 tons of Pro Pellets this season. They do seem to be a bit dirtier this year than last year, but for under $200/ton I'm not complaining. Pro Pellets are about all I can find around here that aren't Michigan pellets.
