No more rainy days inside your man cave! PS, do you have TV in there?

The north side still needs done. There is an old console Tv in there that doesn't work. No electricity either, though.

He's taking tomorrow and Saturday off it sounds, but the leaky part is fixed. I've got to make another long drive to Menards tomorrow to get OSB flooring, underlay for the hearth, and to exchange the one of the 3 foot chimney sections I bought today. I opened up the box of Super Vent and there was a 3 ft' section of Duravent! Menards doesn't sell that brand, so I think someone did a return scam. I would be really mad if I didn't have to go back anyway.

My part has likely been pushed back until Monday with the extra Menards trip. I will be fixing the joists and the floor and then getting it cleaned up and the stuff up there arranged.

He's a professional roofer all he only has to walk across the street to do this job. I'm paying him well, but also getting a good rate.

Can I give some advise? No? Well I will anyways. Don't go with the sliders for the double doors. It will take more to frame them in especially if outside sliders than what you could get a decent overhead door. Plus it would be much nicer to open when the snow is banked against the building. Just a thought.

I just heard about an overhead door that rolls up like toilet paper. Any idea what they are called, not getting results searching for tp door.

Roll up door. Not the greatest IMHO but if head room is a problem for a standard over head door 1 might be just what you need.

    Griz,
I have not heard of a roll up overhead door like you described that is insulated. So, if you want a door that is insulated good luck. When you go to Menard's walk over to the Contractors desk and ask those guys to give you some options on the doors.
I am glad you said that you planned to at least use the hardware for decorative purposes. But, it depends on the look you are going for. I am more or a traditionalist on that style of barn.
I am sure it will look good. Good Luck

Yeah I'm not very fond of the big outside slider I have on my pole barn, and over the years the cement driveway has heaved up a little and the bottom of the door is scraping some and that just makes it harder to deal with.
On top of that I have two doors because I built a wooden one with insulation in it inside , that opens up overhead
