004.JPG 001.JPG 002.JPG I spent yesterday afternoon cutting wood. It was beautiful in the woods - sunny and in the mid-40's.
Figured I'd start early this morning and haul the wood out on the freeze. By about the third trip things were starting to deteriorate.

Mostly ash and some ironwood in these loads. 009.JPG

Sunday I was riding my quad on a trail I've ridden hundreds and hundreds of times and never left more than a footprint....this time I had to put it in 4 low and WOT just to get through....frame was dragging...peanut butter mud flying everywhere. Mud season has reached a whole new level around here.

Buried my car almost to the frame about 3 days ago. Today I rode my bike over that same ground with no real trouble. I am amazed at how fast things can change. It took me several hours to move the car 40 feet when I had that problem.

No fun at all. I showed the ultimate in patience and only cursed it every few minutes instead of constantly.

The weather up here is still cold enough to freeze the clay at night, makes for some decent treading on the mud.

Soupy here in central IN as well. I've destroyed my side yard moving splits from the pile i accumulated all winter in front of the house to the back yard (not truck accessible) with my 10 cube wheelbarrow!

It was so bad I had to carry the 90lb dog inside, upstairs, and straight to the tub! No Bueno

I don't think of it as cursing, I prefer to think that I am speaking "deeply organic words".

Cleverly, I put the lawn tractor and cart under the back deck to save space in the garage. Alas, the load of just-delivered logs is beckoning and I'd have to figure out a way to transport them to the front driveway over the snow and up a hill. Hmmm... Or, I could just use a wheelbarrow to transport rounds up and down the driveway. Ugghh.
