Adjust a non-adjustable oiler?

I have a Husky 55, and a Stihl 026 with the same issue. Neither have an adjustable oiler, and they both oil the bar way too much. Of course "too much is always enough," but it would be nice if they oiled a little less so they ran a little cleaner. Is there anything I can do?

 

Have you tried thicker oil? Summer blend when it's colder out?

 

Are you letting them idle for long periods of time? That's makes some feel there saws are over oiling.

 

I was, because I was also tuning the carb at the time.... Thanks for the suggestion - guess I'll do a little more cutting with them now that I have the tuning right and see how it oils.
