It's gonna have to dry out a bit before I can even retrieve the lawn tractor. They look a little straighter and smaller diameter than usual. He told me there was a fair amount of ash in it. I'm not good at identifying wood.
Nice load. Here are a few of the Ash that I see. The woodland looks like it is here in the Northeast.
My brother and I are waiting for 2 loads to arrive. Hope they come before spring clean up work needs to be done.
That is a nice load of wood you have there. Any guess as to how many cord are there? Any questions on ID, post pics and I am sure someone will come along and let you know what you have there.
The smooth bark one, foreground 3rd from the bottom is beech I think. Little further up the pile, with black cornflakes bark is cherry. I'll wager the ones with smaller funny shaped heartwood are maple. Lots of beetle kill ash - I think your area was the epicenter for EAB in NY. Pretty sure I just found it in my woods this year. Nice pile!
Holy molly that is a NICE load right there~! OH MAMMA!! What I would not pay for straight wood like that! It seems everything I get is crooked, knotty, and tangled up in vines and other tree's..... Just once I want to work with a load like this!! Can I ask how much ya paid for that? I don't have a clue what something like that would go for....
