I'm guessing the order of popularity will be:

    non cat
    pellets
    cat
    pre EPA

You're talking over my head now o_O. 4 years ago I was still burning in a good old ~40 year old, 1/4" plate steel, nearly indestructible, steel box. I like to stay behind on the times :)

I knew I'd leave something out. IWB and Pre EPA so far......

I have a non-cat stove, but it's made by Englander, not the EPA, so I couldn't vote.

Do you run it like that with the iron plate down and the top door closed?
Having that top door open is your air wash and from what I understand that glass is not designed to withstand the heat without the air flowing over it., anyway the best way to run that stove is with the iron plate closed/ pulled up

I.W.B. - Gasifier here as well. That is where my "Internet" name comes from.

(Although my wife said "How appropriate!" When I told her what it was. She seems to think it fits two meanings. :emb:):zip:

well, first off, i dont run it much. it doesnt really heat the barn as there is so much air leakage. but its nice to work in front of something warm. there is no glass. i actually have a steel plate that slides in where the glass should be.
