My favorite hot mix is shagbark hickory, and beech.

Lucky for me, I'll have a lot of both for next year and beyond.

They'll all get it hot here. Some just not for long. For this time of year give me silver maple. When it's cold I like hedge, honey locust, and mulberry. The hottest my stove has gotten was burning ash.

I'm willing to bet the hottest would be a load of nice and dry pine.

I am running into only locust, cherry left in the stacks. I know its not a bad problem to have, but wishing I had some norway maple ready to go.

Start it with pine or sassafras with red oak on top to finish the job.

Anything we put in the stove it can get mighty hot. Don't think we've ever burned anything that could not take the stove top up to around 700 which is the recommended maximum for this stove.
