Stove swap

    That sounds about right. The inside box measurements were close but my IR was about 2" wider inside and about 1" taller and deeper. The funny thing was the Buck looked like a Giant sitting next to my IR!! It was massive for being similar sized. I think the Buck put more heat out the pipe bc of all the insulated firebrick inside. My IR has brick on the back wall and half the floor but that's it.
    As far as putting a damper on the Buck... I'd love to try it but with all the wood I have to move from the old place to the new that's just not gonna happen. :tree:

    I've already noticed that my IR breathes better at the new place than the Buck did so I think the Buck will do just fine there. One think I noticed on the Buck is that you can close the air down completely. Didn't think that was possible since the stamp says on the back, built in 2004. Must be some secondary air coming in somewhere but it sure does shut it down pretty quick if you close the air.

    Thanks Mitch! I'm really loving the new setup!! Last night I had it up to 500F STT and my flue probe still stayed right around 400-450F! It's like its a different stove!!
