Finished my daily 3 mile walk, quick shower, dinner and off to softball training. This weekend will be more work on my sons room. Hoping to get the walls up. That was the plan last weekend, but I pretty burnt Sunday with the time change. Looking forward to a few beers this weekend after a good week of getting my walks in with warmer weather.

Apple, cherry, probably any fruit tree. I think hickory or oak would be too much for shrimp.

That's what anyone should do when it rains. 'Specially if it's covered. When it's not, adds a whole new meaning to "running between the rain drops!"

It was sunny and awesome today, but I still fired up the gas grill for our marinated flank steak and asparagus.

Some things wood fired grills are great for, other things the smoke flavor mucks up the already good flavor of the foods.

After work, most days I have no patience for even charcoal to get going, so the gas grill gets a lot of use by me.

Backyard burger and wiener roasts targeted by EPA
    washington examiner ^ | march 13, 2015 | paul bedard

The Environmental Protection Agency has its eyes on pollution from backyard barbecues.

The agency announced that it is funding a University of California project to limit emissions resulting in grease drippings with a special tray to catch them and a "catalytic" filtration system.

The $15,000 project has the "potential for global application," said the school.

The school said that the technology they will study with the EPA grant is intended to reduce air pollution and cut the health hazards to BBQ "pit masters" from propane-fueled cookers.

Charged with keeping America's air, water and soil clean, the EPA has been increasingly looking at homeowners, especially their use of pollution emitting tools like lawn mowers.

The school is proposing two fixes to reduce emissions from barbecues. First, they want to cut back on grease flare-ups. The idea: "A slotted and corrugated tray is inserted immediately prior to meat flipping, and removed immediately after. This short contact time prevents the tray from over-heating and volatilizing the collected grease. This collected grease will then drip off into a collection tray and can be used at the pit master's discretion."

But, total capture isn't "practical," so a filter and fan are proposed for installation. "The secondary air filtration system is composed of a single pipe duct system which contains a specialized metal filter, a metal fan blade, a drive shaft, and an accompanying power system with either a motorized or manual method. This system can be powered by either an exterior electric motor with a chain-driven drive shaft, directly spinning the fan blade, or a hand-powered crank," said the project write-up... :picard::picard::picard::picard::picard::picard::picard::picard:

Obd2 scanners and emissions tests for grills so we don't have "check burner" lights in the dash.

So if flipping burgers becomes an issue, I wonder how they'd monitor it...
Then I remembered a news piece I heard on the radio last week-spoiler alert, this is pure conjecture on my part- so the interviewee is talking about inter net protocol version 5 code being replaced soon by version 6. Interviewer asks, "what's the difference?" The answer blew my mind and started me thinking.......
The current setup can handle 40 BILLION simultaneous connections to the net. The new version can handle, simultaneously mind you, 78- ready for this?- QUADRILLION connections! That's 78 x 10 to the 15th! There won't be THAT many cell phones, so what the ----?
    Just sayin!

Eric VW, so are you saying we might be talking "grill neutrality" soon?

As long as you are using real Wisconsin cheese, and don't exceed 400 ppm of burnt meat particulates you'll get no fine from the EPA.:grizz:
