Posted a bit ago about dropping 4 good sized white pine trees. Two loads came home so far - the biggest rounds. Here's a shot of the pile of splits from yesterday and finished today. Most of the rounds are still at the drop site - this is just a small amount of what I'll end up with once we finish. A lot will be shoulder wood, then a mix between shop stove and fire pit. I'm guessing 2-3 cord total once all done and stacked. Another pic is of a half-dead oak I dropped about 6 weeks ago, then it was covered in a day with snow - just started to thaw out - might finish bucking it tomorrow and get it split and stacked. Some other pics of the wood stacks as the snow finally starts to melt.......slowly. Cheers!

Will do - I'll post pics of the progress and some of it all stacked - my guess now is about 5 full pallets, but we'll see! Cheers!

I'd probably live out there..lol.. Great looking score and stacks too. What kind of time does that white pine take to dry up there?

Thanks! I've burned some after about 8-10 months in the pit and it burned well without a lot of hissing, but I've only burned 2 year old pine in the stove - not sure if 1 year pine would be great in the stove, but 2 year pine is excellent! Cheers!

I've burned pine after a good year drying, it was all below 20%, might depend on where you stack it, I stack it on a high spot where it got plenty of wind and sun.

I stack in an open area - plenty of wind and Sun, but I stack in cubes on pallets - might slow things down a bit - but, I bet if I burned 1 year pine in the stove, it would burn pretty well - at least from what I've seen burning it outside. Cheers!

I enjoyed the pics of the property too. Great looking barn and the stacks look very neat and tidy in their fenced in area. Looks like your snow is melting fairly quickly.

Ha! Thanks - the stacks sit for about 4 years, so I spend extra time making sure they are tight and stable - otherwise, they'll start to lean, bulge, etc. Cheers!
