    PoolguyinCT if the shoe fits...
That's a pretty savvy way to cook and keep the charcoal neat.... Did you use lump charcoal or briquettes?
Sure was a tasty looking steak- chuck eye can make for a good meal.

Lump as always... & prior to firing it i cold smoked it in the weber @ whatever outside temp was. Lit a chunk of cherry & let it smolder.

    It was damm good...

If you noticed the chimney is upside down, so only used a few pieces of lump, no waste.

    2 beer cook time.
1 fast beer flip, next fast beer plated.

I've often wanted to try a sesame crusted tuna steak on a chimney.... Alton made it look easy.

Chimney starters are basically gasifiers so heck yeah they work.

Tonight made killer burgers on the same set up.

I used 6 pieces if lump. With the chimney upside down there is average 3" from the lump & the skillet.

I spend about 40 to 60$ a month on lump. ( im also a lump pig, hoarder buzzard - i blow through alot if lump firing pizza in the egg)

Im considering fabbing a cooker based on the upside down chimney, not just to save the dinero - but im having fun
With this inferno & new meaning to hot and fast.

I never mentioned it here but i have a problem... I am obsessed with grills & smokers. A big part is basic survival , my wife has been a vegetation (bad hunter) since her late teens.. So when i fire the 19 pound brisket or 13 pound Boston butt for myself, it is truely for medical reasons.

Anyway long story short - ive been sitting on a hell of a little inferno & just realized it.
