i will save everybody the skull pictures before stitches, surgeon stopped counting at 100 btw...
just goes to show how quick things can happen. driving along 30mph and an oncoming car appeared in his lane. nowhere for him to go other than other oncoming traffic. might have been texting, who knows. they had airbags, he didnt. he is hurting today but a tough kid. incidently, he was driving my first car, a 1985 cadillac seville. first thing he said when i got him on the phone, "man, i was really hoping i could get that car to 100,00 miles." but he was more upset he got blood all over his brand new redwings he had bought an hour beforehand!
i know it is said often, but...it coulda been worse...
    be careful out there folks.

Texting while driving is hugh problem, I would like to see stiffer fines for those who are caught. I hope your brother has a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear of your brother's accident. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Certainly texting is a problem. However; let us not forget the many other distractions that drivers face each and everyday. I see people driving while putting on makeup, reading a paper, etc... With fines in place in many areas, they are not slowing down texting. It's difficult at best for cops to catch someone in the process of texting. More times than not, it's after the fact. The only real answer is highway cameras looking for people texting. Which I personally do no support. It would be yet another way for our government to intrude on our freedoms.

thanks all. i was always the better looking son anyway. haha, jk. they did a good job sewing him back together. he has a few layers of internal stitches as well, some muscle and whatever else i guess. the before picture is a lot worse. basicaly a crease from the first stitch to the last that was folded back to show bone. he has had some head issues from birth and this really isnt a big deal compared to what he has been through. he will probably be back to work next week. now he just needs to come up with a better story than "i was driving this beat @$$ cadillac when..." his revised version will likely incorporate an alligator.

Glad he wasn't hurt any worse. And yes he needs a better story. Something with alligators, bears, etc...and saving a damsel in distress or a puppy.
