19º on the back porch. Oil burning in the Peerless boiler. Turned the wood boiler off late last night before I went to bed to let it cool down. Time for another good cleaning.

Nice warm SW breeze . Looking like the start of a melt down this week.
We have one hellof a snow pack. 3-4'. Bottom 18" is ice crystals. That stuff takes forever to melt in the spring.
Prolly a stick of beech and 5 lbs coal for the woodchuck will make it through the day.

Got up to 34º today! It was definitely warmer than that in the sun when I was bringing in some Ash from the outside stack. The boiler and the exhaust pipe from it's cyclone to the chimney are nice and clean now. New sealant applied and dried. The boiler and the 400 gallon buffer tank are now back up to 190º. :fire:

Up to 48º here, had about 1/2 a stove load in last night before bed and haven't loaded since. It 75º inside with the sun beating down. This is when I really see how much difference that extra attic insulation made.

Right where I want to be.
Got nice yesterday. I made a pie and almost overheated the house.
Put 2 split of Maple in the stove about 4-5 hours ago, and the house is still 72.5.
Sun is out and close to 50. The little bit of snow we have is melting. Spring is in the air.
Wait, that might have been the dog......

With temps 55 to 60 since Friday,I just burned some scrap/small stuff for a few hours on Saturday/Sunday mornings to take the chill off.No fire since then however.

Forecast is 68 today & tomorrow, mid 60's for the weekend.

The only wood I'll be burning in next few days is some White Oak/Apple/Black Cherry/Mulberry chunks in the Weber kettle for some cheeseburgers tonight.....;) :grizz::pete:

25 when I got up. Sez 43 now,,,,,, I think its full of BS,,,,,, the eaves aren't even dripping. Supposed to hit 48 today.
2 pieces beech and 20lbs coal should be good till 9 tonite .
I pay close attention to thaw temps in the winter due to some random work we have. I even record temps , cloud conditions and wind direction to get an idea if we can run trucks. Wet loads freezing on a dump truck kills us this time of year.
