Turned off the SCF 050 this morning, and by the looks of the forecast, that might be the last time I run it this year. With temps in the high 20's and warmer from here on out, the CPM manages that just fine by running a few hours here and there. Looking forward to tearing it down and seeing how dirty it got. The corn didn't seem to make much of a mess, and I was burning softwood pellets once the corn was gone, so it should be in pretty good shape. The Sun felt nice and warm today.

Going to look a house tomorrow, thinking about moving. Probably not going to, but it's a pretty sweet place on the river. Far enough up the hill that flooding will never happen, but a great view, very nice house. Natural gas too, which would be nice. I'd lose the huge backyard, but having a nice scenic river in the backyard would probably compensate. We'll see.

I shut mine down last evening and gave it a quick clean, then fired it back up. It's going to be in the 40s all week, so I'm going to shut it down today and burn wood at night and run the oil eater during the day if it needs it. We get decent solar gain, so the oil burner will only run a couple times, if that. The furnace gets dirty quick if it idles on low all day.

Have fun on the house hunt today.

Strange, also shut mine down yesterday evening. Trying out a modification on my battery back-up system and it failed on me. While it was down I did a cleaning and noticed the ash content was on the high side! I had two different Cubex pellet quality. One had longer length with harder structure and the others were shorter but softer. Short the way people like them but seem to create more ash. The temps are coming to be in the normal range which is a big relief on heating and physiology of things. Let the sunshine do its wonder magic on everyone:D Anyone know a thing or two on 120V capacitors for time delay on power outage? I need to buy 2-3 seconds of delay so my battery back-up could kick in before the furnace goes into shut down mode. I'll probably have to start a new tread on the subject.

I see great minds think alike, I too shut mine down to take advantage of the warmer temps and give it a much needed cleaning. The ash bin was full to the top :bug:,only thing I didn't clean was the exhaust pipe outside the house , looking at it from inside the stove, it looked fairly clean and my past experience once a year seems to be all it needs. Now it's time to clear the dust out of my throat  :pete:

I have declared major snow events to be over. I swapped on the regular all season tires/rims and put the Blizzaks/steel wheels in the barn. If I'm wrong and we get a big snowstorm, then I'll drive the truck.

The winter tires cost me about 4 MPG. Well worth it when it's cold, snowy and icy, but those tires wear real quick on warm dry pavement.

Took the car through the wash today. I'd almost forgotten what color it really was.

Still anywhere from 6" to 18" of snow on the ground depending where you measure, but the roads are dry and the snow is melting quick. Thank God.

I ordered a new router today so I can play brick the old one and load it with what I wish to.

The reason for the new router with a 3 year extended warranty is for payback.

Me wants my media server to work without running the beast to host it. (The beast is a currently throttled bit pump so the electric bill isn't too damm high)

ETA: miniDLNA is now on the beast and about to transformed into ReadyDLNA

ETA: Been serving all kinds of crud from the latest version of that server on my beast. Look ma no duplicates. So I downloaded nmap and ran it and the telnet port is open on the router however telneting to it I get kicked off located the magic key to unlock and downloaded it. A bit later I'll see if it fits the lock. And lets me complete the telnet logon.

I already located the source for the router software, maybe by the time the new router gets delivered I'll be ready to try a revised system in the router.

We got way more snow to melt off before it looks like that. The only place I see the grass is where I plowed up to my shed!
