This little guy lives under my back porch - caught a couple pics of him sunbathing this morning.

Got the remainder of my 14-15 wood on the porch. Shoulder season blend - mix of mostly poplar, maple, and little ash.

Its supposed to warm up here for the next couple weeks. Sap was running for the first time today - only about a pint so far,
but if the weather does what they say I might be making syrup next weekend!

Next years stacks looking high and dry even with all the melting snow on top.

    I'm ready! :D

Me too, after last week I hope to not see another flake of the stuff, sat in the rig for 4+ hours waiting for the roads to clear Thursday afternoon, 5 inches of wet heavy snow in about 2 hours that turned slick as snot when driven over the old Mack just couldn't get any footing.

I'm fine with a warm up to get some of the snow melted, not quite ready to quit playing with the stove yet. I talked to a fellow at church this morning that had his woods logged. I was going to get there back in November but it didn't work out at the time with his schedule to show me around. This is about 12 miles from home and I have another farm I cut on about 5 miles from home so I didn't know if I was even going to mess with it. He said the magic words today though......I have a LOCUST GROVE I want to clear.

I think my brother already has about 20 gallons of sap collected, and he's worried that the nights won't get cold enough for it to run strong this week because he already has requests for 12 gallons of syrup!

It was warm enough here Saturday that we decided to enjoy a small fire outside in the only dry place on the property.

Maybe the title to this thread should have read, "Who's not ready for spring?"

For us, 40's the rest of the week with perhaps some rain on the weekend. Today was fantastic! But heading down the road on the atv I still wore the Carhartts. Road mostly mud and water in most spots but still plenty of snow and ice is spots.
