I used to let my bro run his cattle on my land down south for land tax monies (basically for free). Just be prepared for a country vet bill on a hard breech birth. o_O

When he sold his last lot beef was dang give away prices almost for what you put in them. So he quit. Now beef is sky high. Just like playing the market. :smoke:

Back on topic, building a shooting bench for a buddy. His current one is falling apart.

That's kinda my dad's game. He's been AI-ing registered Angus since I can remember and I can remember "flush-cows", embryos, and "recips" throughout my upbringing. We always had a few of those liquid nitrogen storage tanks around. :)

That man just isn't happy unless he's raising cattle.

The way I redo the vent makes em leak a little fuel when they are full, and tipped over. If you see that.......don't sweat it.

Nice day outside for a change so decided to see what's wrong with the clutch on the 125C.Last time it was used in mid January it started acting up (thinking it was broken spring since all of sudden the chain would be turning at idle). Other than that issue, the saw had been running flawlessly since I rebuilt the carb & upgraded to the electronic ignition module last May.So I finished my cut & put the saw away then.

Well the spring is fine,no breaks or anything. But 1 of the 3 shoes had been broken for some time. All 6 of the screws were tight, but the broken piece was wedged in there with a wood chip most likely. So the chip held everything tight until it worked loose & then the spring wouldn't hold it.I can get a NOS clutch assembly (complete with 3 shoes, those little plates,6 screws & the continuous circle spring) for around $28 shipped, but that's not the problem.

The broken shoe fell out OK,but the clutch spider is stuck on the shaft somehow & the other 2 shoes are loose of course but wont fall out yet.Neighbor's husband appeared just when I was ready to quit for the day. They had a big limb on the old Mulberry hanging over their back fence that needed removed.Asked me what I charged,I went over, looked at it about 15 feet up & I said "20 bucks,is that OK?" "Sure that's great"

Told him it might be a day or two before I got to it.But after walking back home then seeing that 125 on the outside bench I thought..."Eh,that saw isn't going anywhere, the pruning might take 30 minutes tops time you carry it all over here & I might not have time in the next few days after all..."

So ended up with about a wheelbarrow load of semi dry Mulberry, plus $20 when I wasn't doing anything productive anyway it seemed. :picard: I need to borrow a small gear puller from Dad or older brother before going any further on that clutch.I poured what little gas was in the saw back in the mix can, cleaned up the bench, put all the parts in a cardboard box, hung the 30" b/c in the shed & put the saw back in the shop.

On to the next project I guess. :hair:
