    Usually it happens around March... I think. I'd really like to swap out the Encore this year. That is the weak point of my setup, but it will require some work to the hearth/fireplace to make it happen.

    The great thing about the 30 is it's simplicity. Especially when compared to the VC stoves. With good wood and coals, five minutes after reload I can have the air closed down and don't have to worry about it again.

    That said, I would really like to find a used Princess...

    Thats the stove I want! Have not figured out how to vent it with a 24" high fireplace opening height.

    I've been thinking about upgrading to the 30 from my old vc defiant. Problem is I have an 8" flue. My set up is 17', 8" SS, straight up.

    If I reduce the single wall section from the stove to the ceiling box, then leave the eight the rest of the way do you feel I'd have a draft issue? It drafts very well now with the defiant, maybe to much.

    Thanks for the link. I haven't been around so much lately because life got in the way so I missed that thread.

    Thinking about pulling the trigger on this, the fireback in the defiant is so warped and cracked I don't think I can get any more seasons out of it.

    Anybody know how long this sale usually lasts?
