This is my Fahrenheit Endurance pellet vent after 2 ton. In my opinion, it's really not that bad. About an 1/8" on the sidewalls on the vertical and horizontal and maybe 1/4" deep in the very bottom of the horizontal section.

I was going to do the LBT. But it has been Uber cold here. So I hooked my big 6 HP Shop vac up to the bottom of the Clean out T and ran it while I ran the Lint Eater up and down twice from outside.

This is the Vertical section before and after.

And the Horizontal section before and after.

Anyone else have any good before and after pics this year? Or maybe a good LBT? Something that will rival smoke show famous LBT video?

I'll have to do a new video. This year I'll prolly be around the 4 ton mark before a vent cleaning... :bug:

That lint eater looks like it works great. I don't think my vent gets that clean after brushing it and LBT......

I love the Lint Eater. The leaf blower is a good tool, but the Lint Eater is a great tool.

Easy to use and very functional. I use my Dewalt XRP drill on speed 3 (fast!! :)) and go very slow. After going down and back twice it's very clean.

Anyone know if the rods are flexible enough to do a bottom up clean through an inside clean out tee where the cap is ~5" off the floor? We have 18' of pipe straight up through the roof.

I could use one of these, the pipe has been swept a few times since September but that is dependent on the weather, not according to our bags burned...

That is, when the weather "allows" him to get on the roof depending on snow/wind/icy metal roof...

The one he has been borrowing is fiberglass (?) rods. Works well from top down but not flexible enough for bottom up, our clean out tee is a few inches above the hearth inside the house. Hoping for another alternative :)

    Thanks!

They are pretty flexible rods. Mine has to go past the 90° in my system and I can barely tell when it hits the 90° and starts traveling down the vertical section.

I did that last week from the inside up...This is the kit I use, the rods are very stiff (shut up SmokeShow) but they do bend enough. You would probably have to fight it to get around the 90, but I think it would go!

I was torn between the 2 systems. I have a Soot eater for the wood stove, so I decided to go with the Lint Eater for the pellet stoves. Plus I do actually use it on the dryer vent every year and it has two 90° and two 30° offsets. It snakes it's way through there no problem.

With a straight shot up, the rods should make that bend at 5". I will do an experiment when I get home tonight to make sure.

When my wife saw me struggling to get the brush up the pipe she told me to buy the linteater...But I am not a quitter and in a week or so all the scabs should be off my fingers anyway! :D

I've broken one of my rods, thanks to the Harman Accentra's very low exhaust placement:mad: The T would be in a better position if it was sideways or maybe a double T would do the trick:whistle:

Is it possible to run the lint eater from inside up the T, while having the LB running outside to catch whatever you loosen ?

That's possible, but you would want to make sure your flex shaft wasn't to long. As you could run the Lint Eater head into the spinning leaf blower.

Unless you placed something at the end of the vent? Or if your leaf blower has a guard before the impeller?

Not sure about running the LE with a drill if it's just 5" off the floor, but it is the best method to clean out pellet pipe, IMO. Mine looked just like Dex's before & after pics.

As for using the LBT along with it, I guess you'd be killing 2 birds with 1 stone if you'd already done the complete stove clean beforehand.

I think it has a plastic guard on it.

Just did my vent cleaning for the second time this season. It was about 80 bags since the last cleaning. Lint eater with the shop vac attachment and shop vac running cleaned the venting up real nice. Next time I'll try to remember to take before and after shots.

Can someone advise me on a Lint Eater? 4" pipe, about 18'. I looked at amazon and was quickly confused with all the different applications, kits, and manufacturers.
