Good morning, 1 degree and sunshine to go with my coffee.
I'll know more when the coffee kicks in.

Heat wave coming this weekend, maybe dig out some shoulder wood.
The fishing gear is being sorted on the shop bench, the reels could use some new line and cleaned/lubed,,yep, a very busy day here.

Shipping the kids off to my parents for the evening. Wife and I will grab some dinner then do some glamorous shopping for lumber and other supplies.

That's no joke. Ground is frozen down pretty far so I don't see anything soaking in. We'll end up with 1/4" of snot on top of frozen ground.

I read somewhere this morning that Vermont's big lake has ice 4 feet thick? Said a lot of fishermen were looking for ice auger extensions.

What a nice day it turned out to be, 19deg and sunny. Despite the teens I'm outside in a sweatshirt today clearing some ice from the end of the driveway. The sun feels good and tomorrow we are supposed to reach 34.
I'm sure I'll be back to 12 hr burns again and soon enough shoulder wood will take us into spring.

I spent the last 2 days in training class. You won't here me say it much, but I wish I was back at work. Yes, even shoveling a roof off. I was all cramped from sitting idle for two nauseating greasy donuts and hotel coffee. I learned that I was not a desk person 15 years ago.

I'd probably contemplate a bullet if I ever had to do a desk job. No offense to the ones that do, but I've been working with my hands and making a living like this for 33 yrs, not sure I could...
