Mine was only $600 WITH the snowblower attachment! ok, so it was 40+ years old, big deal! ;)

But that's the other thing, I'd like to see what all these "new" tractors look like, in say 2055 or 2060??? What will they look like in 40+ years? Still running?

Think I may have found the one I'm looking for. Well maybe. Don't want to jinx it.

2004 bx 2200 with 950 hours, loader, and 60" mower deck. Going out to look at it Saturday. Hope no one else finds it before then.

A: your Wheelhorse is 40+ years old, that's why it was $600.... not apples to apples there.... in say 30 years, these will be in that price range... in todays dollar value.

B: I've got a good friend and customer that is a Caterpillar equipment salesman. When todays technology was first coming available in the late 90's- early 2000's... computer controlled engines, electric over hydraulic controls so on and so forth. We where talking about all the technology and how great it was, may dad over hears this, says to us "my dads John Deere 730 was bought new in 1958 I know for a fact it runs, all hydraulics work, and pto works, all with just routine maintenance done to it... will everything still be operating on these new tractors and bull dozers in 60 years, with only routine maintenance?" we just kind shrugged... well 15 years later now I can say no they will not, heck my last John Deere four wheel drive (a 2009 9430) had switch issues with around 500 hrs on it. That 9430 had I believe 5 miles of electrical wire.... in the cab alone.... talk about a nightmare if a mouse got into it. BUT... would I live with out todays technical advancements... heck no... I could work 20-22 hours in that 9430 thanks to auto steer, implement control, and the cab/ride quality.... you put 8 hours on a 1950's tractor, you feel it... for a while. Sorry for the :Yar:

 looks good... hope you get it!

If ya spring for the 3pt snow blower in the back ground that snow removal would be a breeze:thumbs::whistle:

Detent on scv 2 stopped working, replaced the switch and was back working. Only reason I used it was I had short hose on it to cycle the hydraulic fluid while tractor was warming up on cold mornings. I used implement management for everything else... only took me two mornings of sluggish hydraulics to figure out switch went bad. Lol

IDK about that ms362 in your sig. But I'm pretty sure my oh44 will be running when it's 40. Heck, It's more than half way there and still the greatest of all time ;)

+1. The B20 and B21 are snotty little tractors in a small package. Just don't go buying the one I'm looking for:whistle: You sometimes find ones without the backhoe in nice shape in your price range.

Guess I should change one in mine then. It'll kick of in detent and sometimes not work at all. The service guys down here hardly ever see a command arm much less work on them so I'm cautious with their advice.

We have some awesome service guys up here... only time we had bad advice from the was Deeres fault for not listing a file sump screen on the first parts semantic for a 9430... little brother went though 12 primary fuel filters, a fuel pump and a computer in a day... 1 am we said screw it a drained the tanks and found the sump screen... Lil brother was not happy.

I also had a turbo fail at 180 hrs, but the was a metal flaw in the try your body fins... boy I knew right when it went out, total power loss.

That is a nice looking tractor. I'm not sure if you are aware but that tractor has a limited Cat 1 3 point hitch and the loader joystick stays on the loader when the loader is removed. I believe since the BX50 sereis and newer tractors they loader joystick stays on the tractor and they are a Cat 1 3 point hitch. One thing I would watch for on a used BX is the hydro fan. Make sure all the blades are on the fan. If it is damaged I would not buy the tractor. BX's work good for moving dead vehicles. It should work great for you and moving equipment.

Thanks for the tips. I knew about the loader control staying on the tractor but please explain the limited cat 1 three point and the hydro fan issues. Limited in what way and what happens to the fan and where is the fan located? Not sure where they mount the pumps since I've only crawled around on a few of these.

A limited cat 1 hitch does not lift as high as a Cat 1 hitch. The newer BXs are the only sub cut that are Cat 1.

The hydro fan is up under the tractor on the shaft that connects the engine to hydro, just like on a Cub Cadet. Some people are pretty careless and don't watch what they are running over and jamb a stick up in there and break the fan. The BX60 and newer tractors have a plate to protect the fan. There are companies (brotek and BXpanded) that make skid plates for the BX.

The crazy prices of used tractors is why I ended up buying new and the ridiculous fan is a big reason why I bought a a B instead of a BX.

Just re-read this post and realized you said the joystick stays with the loader and not on the tractor. Any downside to this besides not having a control valve for the hydro ports for other attachments?

All of them (BX) prior to 2008.
Try it. You can drive the tractor forwards and backwards but you have no power steering or auxiliary hydro functions until you increase RPMs.

Other tractors in this size category have decent hydraulic function even at idle. The BX is a work horse but the no hydraulics at low engine speeds is just an extremely annoying quirk for me.

I'm not exactly sure how the control valve disconnects. I know if you get a front blower or blade there is a mount that goes on the right side in place of the loader for the control valve to mount to.

Is the tractor at a Kubota dealer? They should be able to tell you how it works or maybe someone on here knows.
