What I've learned after another 2 months winter lay off.
#10; Even though we had a milder winter this year it don't matter if it is 0° or 30° below 0°, it's still cold out.
#9; There really is nothing worth watching on T.V.
#8; If I was a cowboy in the old west I would want to ride the range with the Cartwright's or the Rifleman because they can have a camp fire at night with only twigs and it lights up the night sky enough to see bad guys and injuns 100 yards away.
#7; Starting a fire in the woodstove in Oct. is fun. By March, well, not so much.
#6; It gets harder every year to get motivated to work out in a cold shop when by the time the project is finished, the kerosene heater has finally made it warm in there.
#5; The internet gets more and more boring as the days go on.
#4; No matter how much Budweiser I drink, they always seem to make more.
#3; I'm glad I changed my ways years ago. Even a 24'x48' house starts to close in on me. Cant imagine what a 6x9 would do to me.
#2; This dog that showed up here last spring goes into heat the end of Feb. Must buy doggie diapers next year. My basement steps look like I carried a blood dripping hog carcass down them.
And the #1 thing I learned after another winter lay off is.....
My wife, who is cooped up with me for 2 months every winter, is 1 of thee most patient, understanding, and hard working gals I could ever hope to have spent the last 35 plus years with. (Even though for some reason she can dirty every pot and pan in the house just makin toast) [IMG]

In referring to #8, I would just like to have one of their revolvers...never needs reloading!

This is strictly for me regarding your Winter lay off notices....................

#10.......For my house; 10*F is the magic number. Above that house is hot; below that, I work to keep it BWS tolerable!!!
#9.........Yes for "modern" TV shows. Got some "oldies" I still like.
#8.........Having hunted the Alaska tundra, Texas panhandle, NoDak plains et. al.; it's dark for sure. Any light is a lot of light in those conditions; though I do understand your point.

#7.........I still have Super Cedars that I bought last year, and will probably have some left for next burning season.
#6.........I don't mind the cold at all. But I cannot go to "work" when it's bitter cold; as I'm in and out all day. If I dress for the cold outside, I roast when I'm inside, and vise versa!!

#5........Will get worse with "net neutrality" now.
#4........Same for me with "High Life".
#3........I would love a smaller, but more open house. 1100sq.ft. here and not very open. Makes it seem smaller than it is!!
#2.......My Chocolate Lab female just started spotting today
#1........The girls I date don't understand why I like heating with wood...............until they start shedding clothes when they come over!!!:D
