On my saw came a stihl chain that has a "c" and a "3" on the tooth. I should have asked the fella for some more info on it but didn't. I do know its a "yellow" chain not green. I've googled chains to learn the difference and read other threads on these types of things but figured you all could put it in country boy terms that I could understand. So what the heck's the difference? I'll try to post a picture if I can get it to work.
Green and yellow are markings for kickback potential. Green is low and yellow is higher. I believe the 3 refers to a .050 chain..
Yes I believe the 3 is .050 gauge and I think the c is for comfort . Usually the tie strap is yellow or green.
Yellow is normally RSC from my experience. More of a true chisel chain, think old school. I run it on the bigger saws and like it.
I use a lot of Stihl RS chain mostly regular 3/8's" .050 but use .325" X .063 too. RS is my favorite.
I thought it was a 3 ............. if it is a 2, then you are right that its .325 If it is a 3, then it is .375 the OP states that it is a 3
Isn't the C on the tooth link mean full chisel? (as if a guy couldn't see that just by looking at it)
Not to keep asking questions, but what does RSC and RM stand for? Just tryin to learn here.....thanks guys
