They work excellent on carpet, but I wouldn't use them on hardwood or laminate. One little grain of sand (heck even salt) can cause a bad scratch on the floor......

Yall think they would be good for moving a 500+lb wood stove?

Maybe do some youtube research with others trying something similar?
I have hardwood and used a furniture dolly. I put a piece of 3/4" ply on top
and attached it with a few nuts and bolts. 2 guys to lift it and voila, your stove
is on wheels and will go anywhere you want it on the same floor. Last year I
moved my Jotul with a dolly and stored it on my covered porch until I sold
it. When the new owner came to pick it up we rolled the dolly down a small ramp
into the back of his truck and lifted it off the dolly, done deal.

The best part is no damage to the floors and it will roll over most any surface
    in the house

I've used these to switch stoves out. They slid across my slate hearth just fine and I used 1/4" Luan sheets on the hardwood floor to protect the hardwood.

I used them on laminate with no issues. Quality laminate is pretty tough stuff. Make sure it is clean and there shouldn't be any problem.

I used some from Harbor Freight, slid my stove out of the trailer across the deck , into the stove room w carpet floor, then to the hearth .
The pads got scratched up bad ,threw them away but ,no matter they were cheap

IIRC they make felt ones also that are easier on hardwood floors.

These work excellent for moving a 500 lb stove and they come in very handy for other things too.

Ive got that but was trying to find something lower to the ground that we wouldnt have to lift much with especially for when we put the stove back on place on the new hearth I would hate to go through all that work and then someone slip and bust a porcelain tile that would not be good.

I bought yellow harness straps designed for appliances, one person on each side. Husband and friend liked them. Think ~~ $20.

If you are just moving it forward and then back, several lengths of 1/2" or 3/4" steel pipe long ways under the stove work nice.

Actually not bad. I put the 500 lb fireview on the dolly all by myself but needed help getting it up and inside the house. And yes, we used 2 ratchet straps.
