Back in the 80's my mechanic had a lady call because she couldn't get her Pontiac "Gooole" (6000LE) to start.

Watching this again, I think the only reason she changed directions was because that beetle showed up. Had the other car not shown up, she may have made several more laps:doh:

Police said he freaked out. He tried to say he had a medical condition, but reversed his story. The craziest thing is that no charges will be filed, no tickets. Idk how that happens. He's probably someone on the force's relative. It's a small town.

This guy just shouldn't be driving. Simple as that.

He may have reversed his story because being charged for the accident might have been better than having a doctor take away his license if it was caused by a medical condition.

I would bet they didn't charge him because he turned in his license. It may also be on private property.

The police didn't do anything regarding his license. The police are letting the DMV determine if the driver needs to take an eye exam. That's all this state requires.
Doctors here can recommend that drivers don't drove due to many reasons, but it's the driver's call to not drive if they have a valid license. Once you have passed the test here, even 70 yrs ago, all that can be done by DMV is a vision test. You pass that, you are set. There's loopholes.
    Scary, huh?

Wow. The video clearly shows it's more than just this poor guy's eyes... that's for sure.

Wow! That makes you feel safe when you are sharing the roads with these people...:picard:

Doctor's here have to report issues to MTO (Ontario's DMV)
    • Under the Highway Traffic Act (s. 203 and 204) both physicians and optometrists are required to report to the Registrar of Motor Vehicles any patient age 16 or over who may be suffering from a medical/visual condition that may impair driving ability.
    • When a report is received it is screened and prioritized in terms of risk to road safety. The medical information is assessed by applying the mandatory medical standards found in Regulation 340/94 under the Highway Traffic Act and the national medical standards.
    • The ministry must balance the needs of the individual with the safety of all road users. The first priority must always be safety. If your medical report indicates that the medical standards for driving are not met your driver's licence will be suspended. A notice of suspension will be sent by mail. At the same time a letter will also be sent to you advising you of what medical information is required to have your case reconsidered.

I worked an scene once were a woman was using the air exhaust ports for a power drills cooling fan to 'cool off on a hot day'. Well, strands of hair found their way into the rotational mechanism and it ripped out a silver dollar sized chunk of scalp.
