9/10 here probably dont need a r kit . Put the small clutch cover, 1/2 wrap, and a small single felling spike on there and offer the r kit in fhc classifieds for about 50$. Bet u have no trouble making someone elses saw look good!! :p:rofl: :handshake:

If you do a lot of work on hillsides since we don't have flat ground. I use the wrap handle for bucking a lot.

It don't bother me. I'll pull the 4 bolts off and get it out of the way any way.

I like the looks of the wide cover. But it does make the saw sit funny because of the large flap.

Everyone has their preferences. That's what makes you unique.

(Man the 461 is a big motha sitting next to the 460).

No way!! The only way I'd be without my 661, is if I got another 661 :)

I like the way R saws look, but it stops there for me! I've had two R saws, and never used the R, ever! So for me it is just a looks thing. I can live without.

A lil birdy told me your going to be 362rcm-less :( :(

Keith, saws be like a women for me, I dont need the prettiest saw (wife) on the block, I dont be needing other guys looking at my saw (wife) envying her,,, :)

I'll take a work saw (wife) any day, over a trophy saw (wife), give me one with a lil dirt here or there, and maybe a scratch here or there, and I'll be a happy guy :)

Oh and as long as it does the job I have it around for (saw) I'm even more happy,,, :) Feels good in my hands (saw) and does it's work well,,,, :) That makes it a 10 for me,,,, :) over the looks department,,,

But, one difference though,,, I will take my saw ported, and NOT my wife :)

It just came back yesterday . I was going to do a small test today, but I have a log ordered from my neighbor for next week. My buddy SquareFile is probably coming over for the 460 vs 461 vs 2171. So it will wait..

    All have extra bananas :dex:

Yeah I prefer the ''old school'' Stihl's with the full wrap handle over that 3/4 bullchit they've had for a few years now.

It does make a difference when you're working on steep hillsides & sloping ground.Granted the hilly terrain I work on isn't like ''real'' mountains on the West Coast, but its a far cry from the ''dead flat fields of nothing'' that most non-Iowan's think we've got around here.....  Average elevation for my area is around 1300 to 1800 feet, give or take.
