I was going to a shiny new medical center that was the same, plus the incline from the parking lot to the entrance was difficult,..... My old hospital had parking right up front.

On another note, I have a friend with a heart transplant that requires ongoing checkup appointments at the same new shiny place. She parks in the pull up canopy at the door and security told her it was fine......No harm if you asked your place too, not like she was blocking the entrance or other cars, and much easier for her to get inside.

Sunday while out snow blowing, I got to chat with some neighbors. Many have turned on the juice and got skimpy with the pellets or wood. Woods at $300 a cord(seasoned-delivered) and pellets are over $300(more if delivered). Kind of a no brainer to turn on the juice and skimp on the others, Seeing oil is less than $2.50/gallon

If I had oil I would have been using it this year. Probably would have set the stove to low and let the furnace do the rest. But I have propane, which was 3.29 last fill up. Which is the equivalent of 4.93 oil.

I don't have oil either or I might be using it as well. Only have electric and that's still too expensive to consider.

Feed the beast 2 bags this AM. Yet another minus degree morning. Pretty much had it with this cold azz chit! :headbang:

My little weather station went OFL on the outside temp this morning and the good ole Taylor said -25 when the boss looked at it. So it got down there. It is going up fast however.

Same for me Jay ,A buddy of mine who used to heat with coal ,but his old Alaska Stoker was going to cost to much to fix ,decided to use a couple of those Eden Pure heaters , they work alright ,but last months Electric bill was $ 600 :bug:

As soon as he gets his tax refund I'm taking him up to my stove dealer and he's buying a Harman. He'll be good to go for next year .

Since oil prices have been low, keep an eye on places like Craigs List in the spring.......with the price of pellets, you might see some deals in there.

Will, make sure he gets one large enough. I know not everyone needs a p68, and they aren't as pretty as some of the others, but they sure crank out the heat and are very easy to clean. So nice to have a stove that isn't fussy about what is being fed to it.

    Hey Subbie

Regarding the LaCrete pellets-I have burned close to a ton so far (maybe 35-40 bags) and havent even had to clean the firebox once- still cranking out enough heat to take care of the house even in this cold weather. The heat exchangers have very little built up on them.

I'm sure a cleaning would eek out a little more heat but I havnt had the time or the dire need for it to make time.
