Just wanted to introduce myself. I have been burning for the last 10 years, typically 5-6 cord a year. Recent job change and move are killing the burning this winter and the snow here isn't help. Around 100" this winter. Only a coue weeks af decent wood left, mostly from the dead trees on my 19 acre property. I currently burn in a late 1800's(or so I was told) railway station stove. Here is a pic of my splitter, it's that hump in the snow!

Hi, welcome. We left several years worth of seasoned wood at my previous home we sold early 2014, I empathize!

Welcome to FHC Crodog . It looks like your gonna fit right in. The stove your using seems kind of interesting, from a railroad station. Very cool

My dogs need snorkels! Here is a pic of the stove. It was included when we bought our house. It cranks out heat but it's a pig on wood usage. I can get about 4-5 hours off a full load. I've been adding some coal to help extend the burn time. My daughter is 53" tall. I have no heat in the second floor of my house and that stove has kept us plenty warm.

Welcome! Sounds like a great place you have there. Very nice stove. Too bad those cool looking old stoves aren't more efficient huh? I've got a really neat old porcelain cabinet style wood/coal stove on a pallet out in the barn that I'd like to resurrect some day but I can't justify it because I know it would eat wood like nothing.
