Like the title says. Found this one on CL at the link below. What's it worth if it is as he says it is? I'm just looking to "supplement" my saw inventory a bit. Maybe I'm going the wrong direction and I should spend the $150-200 on my 044 or 036?

Sam, there is a 2065 up in Montgomery for sale right now on craigslist for 350 with a new bar, I am sure you could get it cheaper, looks barely used. If I remember right its a bit harder to get bars for the 70E. The old school Jreds I have mostly sit idle except for the occasion 910E attack of the 36" bar on cotton wood/silver maples.

The 2065 is a strong runner, I run one myself and almost grab it more than the 2171 even though they are in the same class. Easy top end swap saw too.

044 and 036 are great saws. I don't have an 044 anymore but still have a 036 which has become more of a loaner saw or when someone else is out with me. I'd vote fixing that 044 =)

Thanks a lot for the line on the 2065. I've owned saws for many years but surfing around this forum I feel like I've got a LOT to learn! I've always done my own work but reading about all the mods that can be done I can tell I've barely scratched the surface.

Old Jonny's are super cool, but getting very hard to get parts for. I've benched most of them and run the husky versions in red in favor of being able to get parts easier incase one gets dropped, run over or blown up. The old ones only come out for fun memories.

The 70e is a strong saw. The major downfall is if you have any ignition problems, those parts are very hard to come by and if you do find them they are $$$ That saw was made before the husky merger and not much will fit.
