The whole awd 4wd thing is a bit overblown IMHO. There's so many different ways to make awd or 4wd its up to each system on how good each one is. Sometimes you need to turn the nannies off to get out of spots. Sometimes the nannies only help. Its all dependent on each vehicle/ type of system and sometimes brand.

I've seen stuff that just makes me shake my head knowing that someone either never read the manual or did research online on forums about operation of their vehicle.

Here's the first gen avalanche de cladded 040_chevy_avalanche.jpg
That version came out in merely months after this was released as the original. You could buy either cladded or not, the de plastified one was several hundred. (800 iirc) cheaper. Guess which sold more? 6a00d83451b3c669e20167650462ff970b.jpg

I know a guy that has owned a couple of the Avalanches. He likes them.

Yeah, but less ugly and cheaper, and a partly steel front bumper was an easy choice for many when their checkbook was doing the voting. I agree, the redesigned 06 avalanches were the best looking ones.

Do they make them anymore? Seems like that friend of mine told me one time they were going to stop making the Avalanche.

Nope, they quit making them in like 2013 or 14. Plenty of people want them to be made again.

When the new burbans and Tahoe's came out, that ended the supply of Tahoe front ends.

A semi coworker got rid of his eco boost cause it was vibrating and dealer would not fix it. He said it averages 16-17mpg for everyday use and thats not city.

My sequoia for straight back roads will get 17mpg everyday driving to and around town I get 15.??mpf

Sounds like he has a bad dealer. There was obviously something wrong, but that dealer didn't handle it properly.

What do you have in the Sequoia? 4.7 or the 5.7? We've got an 04 4.7 v8 4runner. Love that runner. Had it since new. It averages about 20 mpg, just like my Audi. Suffice to say we need a better mpg vehicle between the 2 of us.

Gotta be a 335d. The 4 cylinder 3 series diesel is focused on mpg's. The 3.0 335d was a beast. Fast, fun, powerful. But not great mpg wise, for a diesel at least. 36mpg hwy.

Nice! Those are some amazing stats... Does it come with, or have an option, or even need a block heater on it?

Well, I didn't want to be the one to say that, but that's what I (and prolly most everyone else) was thinkin! And I don't mean to be Debbie downer, but really, I guess they have there place and followers but they just don't look "trucks". I actually don't like the look on any of the Chevy's front ends. I think they need to dirty them up a bit, they look so soft, the rest of t he trucks look much tougher. I know it's just looks but,,,.... that's always bothered me about the Chevy's....

Kind of like a cross between an el Camino and a 1980's Buick station wagon.

I'd LOVE to get a el Camino! Used to love those as a kid, they were the shizzle way back when! ;)

It's obscene!:bug: Way more than I need in the U.S. The 4 cyl. is much more reasonable for U.S. driving. I would love to get it on a track or drive or get one on the Autobahn. No block heater needed. Started fine this year at 0*F.

We have a local contractor that has a fleet of El Caminos for their light work trucks, at least 8-10 of them. AWESOME!
