I just read the entire thread at Hearth. There is no low end burn issue with the IS. There are BK fanboys disparaging Woodstock products and stalking Woodstock IS owners from forum to forum to impugn them and their stove and their stove's manufacturer with patently false and absurd claims.

The IS is not a BK. If you want a BK buy a BK. Any given amount of wood can only produce a certain amount of BTUs. The only difference is the rate those BTUs are released into the home and the amount of BTUs that go up the chimney. There is no magic that makes BK products get more BTUs out of the wood. They are simply able to release those BTUs over a longer period of time. That means less BTUs per hour over their long burn times. They don't magically release high BTUs over 40 hours.

Please stop repeating the BS of these BK fanboys on our forum.

    The thread is titled
Hybrid. Theory and discussion. Not comparison

The thread has been locked so it's moving down the page. One of the moderators there did a very good job of trying to keep it objective and on track but the purveyors of woo got it locked.

Found it, skimmed it. Not much information there, or at least information that I found.

But I really did like the moderator's closing line about all the juice being squeezed out of that one.... :)

I'm pretty sure Blaze King pays for advertising there too. Who cares.

This is here and now. I agree there never was a low end problem, however I did make the mistake of leaving way too much ash in the firebox.

Thank you for your advise. I apologize if posting something from another forum upset you. To tell you the truth, the reason the wife and I joined this site was because it seemed a little more friendly than the others. I have to tell you though, you telling us to stop posting information that concerns us is, well, concerning. We are new here and want to be respectful but at the same time, if we have questions, there are members here that can help. What should we do, read that thread and just believe everything that is in it? We don't want to do that without at least running it by members on this site. And you should also know, there are members on this site who do not use curse words in their daily life. Saying "BS" is the same as saying the real thing and that is somewhat offending to us. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience we have caused you.

My advice? Ignore the poster whose erroneous opinions you insist on bringing over here, otherwise a lot of good folks here are going to assume you're working in collusion with that poster to disrupt threads here.

    That said, apologies accepted.

Lovinwood, I'd keep reading the forums, and as you do, the various posters' character and the validity of the information they have to offer becomes much easier to screen out. The thread you referenced has some strong opinions from someone who has not used the IS, and, if you have been lurking on that site for any time, you will know that particular poster has had nothing to converse about in threads related to their own stove, and his credibility went downhill as the conversation devolved. I'm sure he can repair it over time with contributions of value within his stove's subcommunity, but that first impression does tend to linger. This forum, like the others, is a place where posters earn credibility based on the things of value contributed to the community discussion (check out BrianK's lengthy, detailed contributions to the IS knowledge base all last winter, for example).

Welcome to the forum Lovinwood ! Feel free to ask all the questions you want! Lots of knowledgeable folks here and many WS beta testers that can provide 1st hand information. Quite a few BK fans here as well.. Both are good stoves and worth looking at plus many others also decent.. Now about that blower option for the new WS stove...

Poor Ray, he just can't give up on that blower option.  I think perhaps I should take him to the brewry again and hash this out. However, that scares me because he can hold a conversation a long time and I can't drink much.... :bug:

As you did, I too will apologize even before I post.

As for the questions, one can sometimes learn more about someone by listening or reading his questions rather than the answers.

You stated: "And you should also know, there are members on this site who do not use curse words in their daily life. Saying "BS" is the same as saying the real thing and that is somewhat offending to us. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience we have caused you."

Oh boy. Because someone says or writes "BS" does not have to mean it is a curse word. To me it is the same as DH or DW when referring to husband or wife. What does it mean? Of course that first word does not have to mean dumb, as most assume. I assumed it once and was promptly corrected. Well, could not BS mean something other than you apparently assumed it meant? On the Internet it is all too easy to come across wanting to mean one thing and others take offense. This also is an instance of today's society where divorce is not a thing that does not happen often. On the contrary, most couples find they are not compatible and divorce. Today, it seems to be the accepted norm. I sometimes speak of my first wife and you'd be surprised how many will say, "I didn't know you were married before." Well, the marriage to my first wife has now survived into its 52 year. But, how was that phrase, "first wife" taken?

Now back to the stove part. Methinks some folks are over analyzing a bit too much. It goes into the paralysis by analysis category.

I always thought it stood for Bovine S-crement. Around here that's fertilizer.

You make a compelling argument that we should not assume anything in today's world. When BrianK said, "Please stop repeating the BS of these BK fanboys on our forum", he could have been just saying, "Please stop repeating the Bible Scriptor of these Brian Kay fanboys...". Although that would not make much sense in the context of his post.

And when he said, "If you want a BK buy a BK" and "Ignore the poster whose erroneous opinions you insist on bringing over here, otherwise a lot of good folks here are going to assume you're working in collusion with that poster to disrupt threads here", he could have been just trying to be a helpful member on this forum. Unfortunately, we didn't take it that way. We took it as extremely insulting. All because we asked questions and posted things from another site? We thought this forum was a good place to come and discuss wood stoves. We are really confused why our posts would stir up such emotion.

No worries though, there is at least one member on this forum who cares enough to PM us and explain things. He cleared up many of our questions so we don't run the risk of insulting anyone in open forum.

After the pathological postings of IdahoNative at AnotherSite towards Woodstock, it's products and their consumers, and then cross posting his BS here to several Woodstock threads, you have the unmitigated gall to feign insult? Get lost.

You sir are rude and inconsiderate to new members who may not know what's expected of them on this site. Why don't you take your own advise!
