Our family used to make a good amount of maple syrup when we lived in West Bend, and when we lived in Wausau. Haven't made it since, but my cutting buddy started making his own a couple years ago. Good stuff.

Good luck with the cutting Scotty and be safe out there brother. Snow is tiring to tromp through but still good to be out and after it. My wife got home tonight just as I was taking the saws off the truck and ask me if I was nuts.

By the way she said to put the word out she wants a shirt that says Firewood Hoarders Wife

Still coming down here! We got about 3" last night on top of the 3 we already had and they are calling for 5-8" over the course of the day.

Pretty much what happened here also. Warmed up and snowed. Today, dropping temps and snow. Tonight, tomorrow, tomorrow night all back to well below (and wind) with wind.

Ha! Another one that missed us. We're getting used to this. A friend called and he got a whopping 2". He lives about 50-60 miles from us. I might be over-stating it, but we got a dusting. A very light dusting.

They definately got it wrong here too....the brunt of it has stayed south of us so far. Some more bands to come through this evening and overnight but honestly I'll be surprised if we get a total of 4". We've only received a little over am inch so far.....it's weird looking snow, too. Looks like fiberglass fibers.....not the traditional snowflakes.

On a happy note I've hauled in 6 big sleighfuls today, still have two full loads laying up in the woods and I'm hoping to cut some more this evening after I take the kids sled riding for a bit. I wanted 12 loads today but if I get 8-10 I'll be happy. I'll do some more tomorrow. Getting a nice heap out back, probably around a cord so far......here's some pics....

Just saw the storm tracked south, maybe have 2-3" at the moment, it is a very fine and odd looking snow
Scotty Overkill , easy to broom the path's though. The house does much better with these southernly winds vs last weeks northwestern.
