Very nice. I don't know why but I saw that pic and thought "50 shades of gray" and I haven't seen the movie or read the books.... guess we know where my mind is at.
When I get out to the shed I'll get a brand name off the box... I got a partial box for free, I built a showroom and warehouse for the local furniture and flooring store.... not what ya know it's who you know!
Thanks... I told my wife I could remodel the bathroom in a weekend, I forgot how anal I can be.... took two weeks, but the final details I just finished last weekend... I started last July.
Yup like me, rather spend the time and get perfection! Ohh, just saw your pics.... That's a nice tub you got there. Since I did my bathroom 3 weeks before the holidays I didn't do the shower. But when I do, I'll take some more pics.
Funny thing on that tub, wife wanted to use the original claw foot from the house, it was in really good condition, we went to Menards to grab something quick one night and this tub was being put on clearance, no box. It was a $900 tub, they had it marked down to $600... I talked to the plumbing guy, he said someone special ordered it in, then couldn't get in there bathroom cause the door was to small, and that the guy was bringing the box back in a few minutes. I knew what the down payment was on special orders, and knew the restocking fee, quick math told me to offer half of new price... I low balled it and said I'll take it right now no box for $350... He said $500 and it's yours, is said to split the difference and I'll give you $450... He said take it so the manager wants it gone. No problem... well as we where trying to figure out how to get it home, my little brother called said he was just leaving and saw our car. OK I knew he had the inclosed trailer so I told him to come around and get it... but he dang near had it full with carpet and appliances for his new house... it would fit there, or in our SUV. About this time a guy drives up with the box... it was the store manager... He was the one that ordered it and couldn't get it in his house. Manager smarts off that if we can't take it now the deal is off... challenge accepted... I thumbed through the instalation instructions and found where it is two pieces bolted together, little brother and I zip the bolts loose, he could take the outer skirt, and I could take the inner tub.... walla. Boy was the manager POed, started to try and back peddle on the deal, I told him very loudly that if he was to stupid to read the instructions that's not my fault, and proceeded to ask how in the heck he became manager of a so called hardware/ lumber yard.... they kinda just shut up and asked me to leave... that manager still hates me to this day!
No it's just a fiberglass insert... I wanted tile, but wife said that would take me to long... she is right... so I just got fiberglass... I have intentions of adding a attached garage, with master suit above it... I'll tile that showe... and get a bigger tub!
Yeah mine has the fiberglass insert as well. At least you added the glass doors, I just left it with the curtain for now. Cause I really want to redo it. Here is a pic of the small bath, designed them to match. Here is before lol how it was.... Here is after:
Here is the bigger of the 2 Before- Who puts peel N stick tiles over linoleum??? After- Wife loves the storage this offers.
I've done 2 bath room make overs in the last year, got 1 more to do . I used Traffic Master vinyl plank flooring , got it at Home Depot , also used in the Man Cave looks like real wood . Started back in early December,it was back on like by Xmas ,but not finished we couldn't find a mirror that we liked . Finally found one at an antique place it's beveled and it must weigh 30 lbs. they don't make em like that any more. Finally got around to hanging it up ,like you Farm hand I take my time I kept the tub and the vanity I refinished the doors . Pic's before , during , and after. I really like this DIY forum and all the cool projects that get posted here lots of very talented folks here
