Thanks W.S., I like getting up there to see the sunset.

When is your next snowfall and how much are they calling for?

thewoodlands we just received about 4" yesterday, another inch tonight, and a storm Saturday/Sunday, amounts unknown yet. All season have been sissy storms, with only 2 bigger ones. The cold has been relentless though. Last few days coldest yet, next few days coldest yet :loco:

The sun is certainly stronger now, melting some snow despite way below freezing temps.

I'd like to get out cutting, but the snow is too deep........

I'd nearly kill for a good 4" snow up north Wisconsin. The trails are rideable, but 4" would make them very very nice. I have about 2 weeks before I will be headed up for my extended sledding weekend. It appears the ice and existing snow will be good with the cold we have in the 10 day forecast. We just need some more. After that weekend, it can get warm.

We went for a snowmobile ride............we found a dog running up the trail so the wife was able to get the dog after 20 minutes and my job was to find the owner, I found the owner up on the snowmobile trail so all things turned out "gooder".

The dogs name is Zeke, strong dog.

thewoodlands update.... We are expecting up to 6" with the potential for a mix, even freezing rain possible by Sunday. Snow will start Saturday when it's cold enough. Tonight, some of the coldest temps moving in...... lows -7 windchill -20 to -25.

It definitely gets harder to keep the house up to the mid 70's when it's gets a chance to cool down while we're at work. We have been going home during lunch and reloading while checking on the new pup. This helps a bit. Stay warm, sled straight!

I think he let him run free when they were on the same trail, that didn't last long.

It ain't real pretty, but here she is. 1974 Chaparral SSX. The seat is just temporary until I can get one fabbed up. Shes my firewood hauler. Just finished putting all my running gear into a replacement chassis that Pallet Pete brought to Ohio for me. I have another one that's complete and in VERY good condition, hope to have it up and running for next winter. ..

Nice Scotty! I may be using my buddy's old FA jag 340 to haul some wood too, if I get to it before the snow melts....

Is that the original rear suspension on that chapparal? I've heard chapparals were ahead of their times in a number of respects. Sleds from the big 4 didn't have a longer travel rear suspension until the mid 80's at best. My old 84 panther had nowhere near that amount of travel, but that was essentially an 80 model with new graphics after cat being out of business for those 3-4 years.

That IS an original Chappy suspension assembly, but I modified it pretty heavily to give it around 4" of additional travel....and i added a coil - over shock off of a 1980's Yamaha street bike. Made a HUGE difference.

The wife said, lets go for a short ride so 30 miles later we made it home.

We did take a few different trails today which was nice, just a few pictures from the ride.

We decided to go for a ride on the sleds on the county trails (22 -24 miles) just a few pics from today, most of the trails were smaller so I didn't take many pics.

After pushing in three loads of Ironwood, I hit the trails four about 15 miles, when hit my turnaround spot I could see the groomer had just gone through so I took a run on the freshly groomed trails........... it was very nice riding.
