Hey Dex said the same, gonna give it more air. See if it does it again, if so I am filling some holes!
Instead of all the air going through the burn pot, it looks like some is sneaking under send out the right front, and maybe right back corners. As indicated by the lack of ash buildup on those spots.
You need to verify how well the pot sits in the cradle. There could be a small blemish, weld or something, stopping the pot from sitting flat.
Ahhh ok. I'll take note when I clean! If I remember I'll take some pics. Good eye, and thanks for advice.
So I switched to FSU and I can feel the heat difference for sure. The tstat held at 73 for awhile. I didn't think it could make it to our 75 setting. I moved the furnace to level 5 and it eventually made. Takes a lot longer using these pellets.
Just threw the last of 9 bags of Greene Team pellets in the hopper. Overall I thought these were OK, but nothing that would leave a lasting impression. I was able to get 450 - 480 degrees out of them, but not consistently and only after turning up the feed rate to 4.5 - For comparison, some of the other brands of pellets I have burned this season achieve the same thing at feed rate 3.5 or lower. The pellets look and smell like stove chows to me, and they produce similar dark heavy ash as well. Maybe not quite as much, but close. Guessing they must be the same or similar wood fiber. I would not go out of my way to buy them again, and the fact that they cost $7/bag at Lowes for much of this season makes me chuckle, especially considering I paid $4.88/bag at the beginning of the season, using a $10 off $50 purchase coupon. They were $6/bag at that time and even that is too much IMO. These simply do not belong in a different pricing category than all the other brands Lowes sells.
I feel they were hotter than FSU. GTP could reach our 75 degree mark on level 4 easily....... I have to raise the furnace to level 5 to get it past 73 degrees now
Oh yeah ttdberg....the price is crazy. I bought them late in season when they were $6.89 a bag but got a discount from an employee so I didn't mind. Came out $6 a bag. Still pricey yes, but at the time I had no pellets. Since then I found Fireside ultras at HD for $4.78 a bag
