planning out a bathroom remodel for the Gf

Went to Lowe's & HD yesterday and browsed a bit for ideas on renovating the 1/2bath

This is "Her" bathroom, and I'm planning on allowing her some design leeway.
She wants a white vanity, white beadboard wainscoting, and a seafoam like color on the upper wall.
I put my foot down on laminate wood flooring - no way that's going in a bathroom.

Came across some really cool tile that looks like weathered barnboards, it's pricey but we're dealing with very limited square footage:

 

basod, that looks like the tile we found a while back while browsing for ideas when we redo the kitchen.

 

Those tiles have amazing depth, online pictures don't do it justice.
I suggested it after she browsed paint colors, the bathroom theme is beach/ocean orientated....even though we live in the middle of a national forest 4 hrs from the coast

 

Yep, we were amazed how natural the grain looked. For a couple seconds, I thought they were selling barnwood.

 

My in laws have that stuff in their house. Very cool and real looking. Hard to lay on poor subfloor though...not as forgiving as a square tile.

 

That was my first thought about the long tiles, but I'm on a slab, the only irregularity in this bathroom is the divot around the closet flange for the toilet

 

Use the best grout sealer you can get. I like that tile, I would offset the pces more (the joints are too close for my taste) Good Luck and of course pics!

 

Acrylic grout is the only way to go. Has sealer built in and stays flexible

 

go back to home depot, tile dept, and look for sandy beach tile. it comes in several sizes and has all the colors you are talking about. I have it in a half bath and it would go good with that floor and seafoam green. I would use tile on the walls instead of wood.

 

Agreed, because of the length of the tiles the more pefrectly even the floor has to be to accept them without having mismatched grout lines. Your slab with a nice mortar base should work fine.

 

We have the mdo or mdf? beadboard about four feet up with honeydew melon wall paint. White vanity and top. It has a classic look that will not need updating for a long time.

 

Very real looking. I'd be afraid of getting slivers in my feet

 

I haven't seen these in person but I have some tiles I bought from lowes 3 years ago that are laser printed. The design looked real to touch but yet flat. Almost 3d

 

Awesome looking tile... look into a floor warming with the tile... trust me... Wildwest had a thread on it.... If your open to other suggestion take a look at Vinyl Floating Planks, looks like real wood, but 100% water proof, I used it in our water closet (think closet with a toilet in it), very easy to install, cuts with a utility knife, and is very durable.



I used Bamboo laminate wood flooring in our main bath, it is highly recommended for wet areas, we also put a premium waterproof underlayment pad, when my 2 yr old is in the tub, I am very happy we spent the extra coin on it. Also sounds to look close to what your GF is wanting, less the wainscoting.

 

Thanks for the ideas, I'll check out that flooring. I have a laminate in the den(put down by previous owners) and even small puppy accidents have caused bulging in the seems.

 

Here's a rough pallet of where I'm starting(excuse her clutter). 5'x6' half bath, no exterior window, and being on the slab the toilet isn't going anywhere.
There's the funky space to the right of the current vanity(30" now) has enough space for 40" - which is non standard, I think a 36" with left hand offset vanity top and she wants drawers on the right, will work.
Finding that vanity is a different story
