Ok, First let me say, I have no idea what this is. It has what looks like a hose connection on the outlet. A pump on the bottom and I think the plate is a mixer. This gem was in an implement shed on my FIL's farm. He didn't know what it was. It was giving to me about 20-21 years ago along with an 8"Howitzer charge crate. And I just this year turned the crate around and realized what it was. Let the games begin! (sorry for the really bad cell phone pics)
I haven't found any traces of anything oily on it. I would think there would be a greasy residue somewhere from the oil. But again...i am clueless
Geesh, that's an old one. I know what it is and I think some one else already guessed it right so I will be still. It would make a neat addition to a guys man cave bar iffn you wanted to get greased.
Well, if it's a butter churn, the butter would float to the top and the whey would be left behind. Maybe the screen is to strain the whey when it's poured out after churning? I could be way off.
All right, spill the beans. I have to get to bed at some point, and I ain't going till I know whether I was wrong.
Yeah, looking at it on my desktop computer, it looks like some kind of hand pump, and the flat plate looks to be an agitator of some sort. It wouldn't be a paint sprayer, would it?
I think I found it: F. E. Myers barrel (or bucket) pump. They were used for spraying on the farm, transferring fuels, etc. Or a Hayes pump sprayer:
They all look so similar, has to be one of the two. Oh, and my genealogical tree lists my line as some of the first Meyers that dropped the first e to settle Ohio.
