lol! I was reading a bit too deep into that!! Pm me your address, I'll send you one of those Torano's above, they are finished in wine barrels. I love them... Another benefit to tubos is, they are easy to travel with in a pocket or bag... If I had a dollar for every cigar I broke carrying it somewhere I'd be a wealthy man! What do you smoke? I'm always looking for a new cigar...
I got one of these and also a 2 cigar hard leather case. http://www.cigarsinternational.com/travel-cases/37456/herf-a-dor-travel-humidor/ Thank you for the offer but I dont smoke infused or flavored cigars Im the resident cigar snob lol.
Oh, PS- When I say "travel", I meant travel to a bar, party, out to dinner... not traveling via airplanes.... I have a whole bunch of travel cases, 2 cigar, 3 cigar, Stainless, leather... I have them all! But, you still end up with one in pocket, in a bar.... and snap! The case I have that I like the best is this one, a couple ounces of B&B, two cigars and off I go! http://ep.yimg.com/ay/a-zlighters/v...ss-steel-2-finger-cigar-case-with-flask-3.gif Those aren't flavored or infused, they are just fermented in casks that previously held port wine. I'd bet 10 to 1 you would like it! So what do you smoke, what's your favorite... ?
Right now? Tatuaje TAA 2014's, Tatuaje Noella Reserva, l'atelier travailleurs (5 pack of shorties precut!) Surrogates Satin Glove (new fav.) Thats my current rotation and once in a while I'll pull out an rare oldie to smoke.
Silica kitty litter is what I converted over to. It is great for keeping a consistent moisture level between 65%-70%. As far as cigars in the refrigerator, NO! The only time you would use the fridge is to put your cigars in the freezer for a couple days if they get an infestation of tobacco beetles. That would happen when the temps rise in your humidor much over 70°. All tobacco has the beetle eggs on it, so they are there to begin with. You just don't want them to hatch. No excess heat or humidity and you should be alright.
I've seen them stored in a fridge, but in a sealed container with moister added (pad, sponge...) to keep the humidity up. But it's much easier to get a cheap humidor.
Any current codes out there willing to be shared? I think there will be an order going in from the U.P. soon!
Man I wish you guys would listen to me....... these will go for probably $11ish and they are a better size. Personally I dont care for them.
I'm listening!! But I'm a bit confused, you posted the cigar, as if you want us to buy it, but then quote: "Personally I don't care for them". So which part are we supposed to "listen to", the evel devil or the prince?
I only buy good cigars, try to anyway. But nowadays it's pretty hard to pick em out, they all say "91+ rating". I wish somebody would come up with a REAL rating system. They need something like: 1-10 for construction 1-10 for burn 1-10 for draw 1-10 for taste -------- Total rating # Then a strength scale: 1-10 1 being mildest, 10 being boldest. So a cigar would be sold as: 32/7 (32 rating out of 40, and a 7 on the strength scale)
Agreed, that "91" rating was from the first release of the cigar that was probably rolled by someone else at a different factory using different blends of tobacco..... Tobacco production can shift dramatically from year to year so I find it easier to become a fan boy of one factory and go with it (My Father is Don Pepin Garcia is Jamie Garcia is Tatuaje is Surrogates is l'atelier ect) That whole list is rolled at My Father in Esteli Nicaragua and nothing bad is rolled in that factory and they produce low end ($2-3) to high end ($15-20) Happy hunting!!
The ratings are so subjective anyway. To me, they just give a general idea of the cigar's quality of tobacco and construction. I've had 94s that I didn't like, and a 90 and less that I thought were great. Generally speaking, like reckless said, certain factories produce nothing bad. That's usually a good way not to get burned buying a box on the blind. You get what you pay for applies in many instances, and that goes for cigars too.
That's why I usually stick with Torano's: http://www.famous-smoke.com/search/?kw=torano Never been wronged by them yet!
