I didn't buy any. I've read mixed reviews but the latter critiques have been more positive than those from a few seasons back.
a buddy of mine exclusively burns them in his pdc-25 (i think that's the right model). He likes the fact that they are longer pellets, and thus increase his burn time per bag. his stove would chew through the smaller softwoods much quicker. I think his feed gate is wide open, but still, the longer pellet stops some excessive dropping per auger movement. i've never used them.
Looks like the box stores have finally dried up around here. We have a steady stream of folks driving down from Steve's area to stock up for the final run of the season. But we have tie for first place. A customer drove up in the snow on Saturday from Maryland to grab a couple tons of Okie Plats. And another came from Williamsport for a ton of AWF WPs. Both are pushing 3 hours each way.
Guess they know a good pellet when they see it and are willing to travel great distances to secure them, than put crap in their stoves....just sayin....
They probably just have their mistresses in that town and told the wife they needed to get pellets. They had to come back with something.........
I guess if you need them and can't find anything closer ,do what you have to do that's 300 miles round trip those be some really expensive pellets.
Stopped at TSC today and they just got a load in. they been out for 2-3 days, so I stopped to see what brand they were and they were Instant Heat . I never seen them before. $5.49 a bag, 10 bag limit. are they good?
