From what I hear, retail will be just north of $1200.

 

Not brand new they can't. And it will be at least a few months before you even begin to see a 661 show up used. They aren't going to sell near as many of them on this side of the country as they do 50, 60, and 70cc machines.

 

After the last 2 deals I worked with my dealer, I think I could get mine under $1K. If not, it would be right at $1,000.

Got my 460 for $909 and my 441 for $810. Both with 25" bars, a free 6 pack of oil, a hat, and I worked a discount on a EDT 7 Tach with the last deal. Happy camper.

 

Thanks Boog. Wanting to sell the 044 and get a small 50cc saw. I will still pick up local CL deals to flip for a small $? But no more personal use saws. 4 will be max, maybe 5

This just in.. I did sell the 044 and bought a 50cc saw (said I never wanted a 50cc saw again). The J-red came in Sat from Terry Landrum Wicked saw works.

I went and did some cutting with the 441cm today. This is a very nice saw. Good power, good balance,and easy to start. But..... My 460 eats it for lunch (stock). Granted, it's only the 1st tank, the moronic is still "learning", and I have not gutted the muff yet. But, to only be about 5cc less? It feels like a lot more.

And it's heavier. So, out of all of them. This one will have to see Randy 1st Heard he does miracles with this saw.

Not hating on the 441. Great machine. If I had a choice of only one 70cc class saw? It would have to be the 046/460/461. Hard to beat them.. Even stock.

I still love the saw. And I have heard from several that it takes 15-20 tanks before it comes alive. I have until May 17th before the GTG at Swags place. So I want to put at least 10-15 tanks in it before Randy gets it. I know ported saws are nice, but I never understood buying a saw, and having it ported before it was truly broken in?

Break it in stock, then subdue the bearings, piston, rings, etc, to those extra pressures and temps.

Maybe I have a love affair with my 460? But between the 2- 046's I have ran, my 044 I just sold (it ran pretty Nasty too), this 460 is a Freakin Monster! Maybe it's because my exhaust port (s) equal about 175% over stock form? That's the only mod. But it's acceleration is much faster, much more torque, and doesn't "sound" as mechanical. This thing sounds like both of my 361's. They sounded much more "different" than any other saw. Until I got the 441 into wood today. Sounded about the same.

Again, I love it. These are my opening statements. I try to be as honest and judgmental, as possible. Very likely to change, as I have been told by a couple that it will take a little time. Still an awesome saw.. And pretty sexy to look at.

 

I'm on tank 5 or six Dex and it does get better as we go. Doesn't have the power my 460s had but it's getting closer. It does run a lot longer on a tank of fuel and the filter stays clean for an eternity compared to the 460s. I can cut for most of the day without stopping to clean that filter. AV is better than the 460 by leaps and bounds.

As far as power goes, out of the box, I think my 441 is stronger than a stock 460, but that's because the 460s stock muffler is ridiculously restricted for the size of the saw. Doesn't take much to unleash that one tho.

 

The fuel economy is far better than a 460/440. That cannot be argued. As well as the AV.

 

Don't forget the maintenance either. The 460 will plug an air filter damm near every tank of gas in the right conditions. It is amazing the difference in how much sawdust gets into that filter. Yeah yeah yeah, I know Husky figured all that out years ago.

Also, the newest version of the 441, with Mtronic, will run just as good on a 10 deg day, as it will on an 80 Deg day. I can honestly say that my 460s did not. They required adjustments to run optimally as conditions changed.

The bottom line here is that while the 441 in stock form, does not offer more power than a 460 or a 461, it certainly wipes the floor with one as a tool that you remove from the truck, pull the rope two to three times, and go cut wood.

Did I mention that BOTH of my mTronics (261/441) start a helluva lot easier (cold) than the machines they replaced?
