Those are the days that remind me why I moved south:p
Nothing worse than every shovel full vaporizing back at you....
and when you get done the drifts have filled in half the work:mad:

It appears my "winter weather event" (blown way out of proportion down here) has changed to cold rain - yeah I'm not inserting the sad smiley:D

I don't like it when the temps are below 0. Heck, I don't like it when the temps are below 30.

Kind of a stretch to call that a "3 stage" unit but whatever moves the metal for them. I've seen a lot of different designs for the business end of a snow blower but none work quite as well as the ubiquitous design we see today. I like the single stage designs with the paddles in the middle of the auger that was so common on tractor mounted blowers in the recent past. Works great on the deep powder we all are seeing this year!

I don't know what the wind sounds like right now in Carver raybonz but I'm just east of Manchester, NH and right now it's howling like a banshee out there. For some reason that scene in the Empire Strikes Back where Luke cuts open the stomach of a tauntaun with his light saber popped into my mind a little while ago.

This snow is too much. I do feel lucky that it hasn't been heavy wet stuff. We don't have layers of ice in this deep stuff. I haven't seen animal tracks anywhere around here. Just the dog prints in the driveway.
Is there anyone who doesn't have several feet of snow surrounding them?

Yeah if it were the heavy wet stuff we'd probably be having power outages as well. We should start a pool to see who can come closet to guessing how many inches of snow will still be on the ground come St. Patty's day.

I haven't seen any deer tracks or anything like that but I saw some suspicious footprints that looked like they were made by a Yeti out by the generator on the woods edge.

OK so it's 10:30 here. Just punched my zip code into accuweather.com.

    It's -3.

-32 with the wind chill factored in.

We need one of the little smileys that's a face inside a block of ice or face being snowed on by a snow cloud above it.

Been that way all night. Three below zero and 25 mph wind. Major wind chill factor!

Yeah, same here last night. I thought that maybe we dodged the winds when at 3PM it still was not bad. Then all hell broke loose around sundown.

I can't believe how cold it is here! Need to clean up drifts but not in these conditions!

I am sooooo thankful for my battery giving me a warning notice in December when sitting there for 3 minutes with the radio on and engine not running made it so the truck would not start. I put in a new bigger battery that turns the engine nicely even in this weather

I spoke with my dad last night who said that my oldest brother called and told him that he would not be there yesterday to shovel and he would be there today. BIG mistake that even my dad brought up. He's a banker that has the brains, I am a logistics person by trade and have the smarts in very different areas.
