I cleared a lot with an old farmall H this past summer, that thing can skid some serious weight. I just used a old climbing rope tied to the tractor and a running bowline on the log. A skid steer is way faster, but the old tractor had no issues. It was $1800 bucks well spent.

That must have been quite a storm if it was one of your worst. I seems like anytime we drive through there in the winter it is snowing/raining. Glad you made it safely. Definitely looking forward to seeing the final product. Log arch will be perfect.

It would be nice to have a tractor, but no bueno. Log arch and ATV will be fine. Nothing is terribly big, all less than 20".

Nasty stretch of road on that mt. used to drive it almost daily 1988-1999 when I ran freight in and out of Johnstown from Cumberland Md. until I transferred south in 2000 glad you all made it home safe.

Ah, you know it quite well then. We used to snowmobile all over that mountain. We would park at Babcock Park just outside Windber and ride over to the pizza pub at the top of Blue Knob resort and back.
