I just acquired my neighbor's 046. He finely decided to pass it on. I've been bugging him for several years, that I wanted first Dibs on it. Well about a month ago, he mentioned it to me. So I just picked up the saw (bought on 1/2/97), 36" bar & one chain, 24" bar & 3 used chains & 2 brand new chains.

I'll get it cleaned up and try to get the "46" that he wrote on it off too.

I'm pretty thrilled to say the least.

Well in Sept. it'll be heading down to get a few extra Bananas... but beyond that I'm not sure. Just a different combination that the other one is what I'm aiming for.

Hope it comes off without a trace, but it's just cosmetic it what's inside that counts. Good luck.

Yep your right. I'm pretty sure it's low mileage...since I've lived here (9 yrs) I've only seen it cut into wood twice. Every fall we fill it with fresh gas and start it. And then dump it out the starve it out.

.063 gauge are wide nose. Nothing uncommon.

For a bar that length .063 is what I prefer

    Nice score Chvymn99

I hope to be as lucky as you Chvymn99...I've been buggin' my neighbor for a while to sell me his saw but haven't had any luck. It is rarely used, and in pretty good shape.
Did I mention it was an 044? :)

Sounds like a neighbor that bought a big saw for a specific tree(big bar) and used very little - everyone knows a 16" Sugihara w/ full house chain is the perfect bar for an 046.

    Awesome:smoke:

Yea, Ive been planning that trip since he finally gave me the word. I figured the extras really help justify it.
