So I finished the stove up on Thursday and had it inspected today. Inspector was very nice and very thorough. Measured all clearances and checked for CO and Smoke Detectors. Here are a few pics of the install and the tools I needed. Running pics to follow later today.
I'm still learning, so....why did you seal the joints of the pipe on the outside? Didn't think they needed sealed, but I've been wrong before. Just ask my wife...
Looks good IHP - Is that your second stove? What do you think of the direct drive auger motor which has no auger bearing? I picked one up too.
Yes, this is an addition to the West Point. So far I love this thing. It is like a Church mouse compared to the WP. No problems yet with the auger lol. It doesn't even have a bag through it yet. Time will tell. This stove will only get a ton or so through it a year. Light duty.
Congrats on the install! Looks great! Having several options is nice in this cold weather! I rarely run my Pellet furnace and the Enerzone upstairs. But if I feel lazy and don't load the wood stove? I turn the stat up on the Enerzone. Looking forward to your review after a bit of run time. The heat exchanger on that unit is much like other Manufacturers units (tube type), which is a better exchange system
IHP, this is just awesome. Congrats on the new stove, the install work looks excellent as expected - hope you love it! OK, who am I kidding, I know you will love it! How long would you say it took to do the whole thing, once you had all necessary parts and tools in your possession?
It took me maybe 5 or 6 hours. I could do it again in half that time. I took a long while thinking about what to do before doing it and it was freezing out so that didn't help. It was pretty easy though in the end.
