I like all the pics of folks on here with their dogs a cuddled up to the far. It made me wonder why this silly dog of ours always plops her azz down about 10 feet away in a chair or on the couch so last night I did some investagattin. The temp of the 24' by 48' basement was a cozy 75°. Black Sabbath was commin down to about a 400° stove top temp. I took a thermometer and placed it on the floor about 3 feet in front of the stove for about 5 minutes. I guess I wouldn't want to be layin there neither less I wanted a sunburn or sumpthin.
Some dogs are heat bugs others not so much. Like Butcher's pup, Bear is the same way, happy to stay about 10' away from the stoves. He has been spending the entire afternoon stretched out on the futon in the family room.
IR frequently shows that tile in the 120° range when the stove is cranked. The cat lays right on the pedestal, with her head and neck up against the ash pan.
The tile in front of the stove gets nice and warm, so the dogs take turns out there. It's usually the older one, though.
Good thing I aint hungry cuz if I was I would make the 20 mile trip to get take out at the East China buffit. What manner of machine is a Goldendoodle?
Chasin squirrels will make any doggy sweep especially when a a faithful fire heats the quarters.. love those afternoons..
Doug stretching out on the ottoman trying to get close to the stove but not wanting to leave the comfort of the couch.
