A low of 17 but the next day's high of 16. What?!

For the life of me I can't seem to make sense out of this forecast. If you look closely, you will see that Friday night's temperature is supposed to be 17 with temperature rising to around 22 by 2 am. No problem.

However, if at 2 am the temperature is 22 degrees then how can the high temperature for Saturday be only 16? Okay....

A cold front moves in and the 22 deg temp becomes a high of 16?

I believe from what I have seen that when they talk about weather for Friday night it is everything that happens up until sunrise Saturday so after 2 a.m. I would guess My IS is correct a cold front moves in.

Well duh? A cold front moves in. Normal thing. But not normal for those temperatures. The high temperature the next day is lower than the overnight temperature. How can it be 22 at 2:00 am but then a high of 17 if the day begins at 6:00? Yes, it is possible. Probable? NO.

Update. Now the forecast says nothing about rising temperatures. The forecast is for a low of 21. That is followed by a high of 17 with falling temperatures. Oh boy. I do have to state that the people who write these things are located at White Lake and I've communicated with them in the past. My thoughts then were wondering for sure where they got their education... I also remember a meteorologist try one time to to explain what vergo was. I asked if this person realized it was virga rather than virgo. Pause.... Then went on to try to explain it but was sort of wading through it so I asked if they meant the rain that evaporates before it hits the ground. "That's it!" Okay....

Dennis, I also have noticed that on the weather channel occasionally and always get my confidence in their forecasting abilities boosted! Just remember, these are the same people that get to keep their jobs even if they keep making mistakes!

S'posed to have a low of -6° tomorrow night and a high on Sunday of °5. I'll be doing a fire by friction video up in the woods in those conditions to try and add some "reality" to it. Stay tuned.

I'll be cutting on Sunday so I'll need that fire to warm my hands once in a while....lol

    It's the new "math".

Doesn't matter if it correct, just as long as the weatherman "feels" good about it.

Remember that these forecasts come from the NWS models...built by government employees...and regurgitated by TV personalities.

It did hit 17 degrees but not last night. It was at 7:15 until 8:15 this morning. All downhill from there.
