What do you pellet heads think about this?

ok, if the stat wires are "open" and you go to "on/ off " when you turn the stove on it will not start as its waiting for the stat to call for heat. methinks you have a stat issue if its hooked up. you want to run this test to see if the stat and the board are "talking" http://www.englanderstoves.com/manuals/TstatTest_AutoIgnitePelletUnits.pdf

some stats have to be hooked up in a certain manner to work with the stoves circuit board, if a switch is mis set on the stat or the wires in the wrong place on the stat bus the circuit stays open. in high low that means you are only getting low, and in on/off the stove will not turn on when button is pressed

 

i see more info now, is the stat you have capable in running a simple open/closed millivolt circuit? some 24V units have this some don't if they don't then the stat is looking for a 24 volt current from the stove which isn't happening. this is also an issue with some of the "nest" stats apparantly

 

Not sure on this Mike. Will check later today when down at camp. I had to come home and cook omelette with Monterey Jack cheese, onions and peppers, and pumpernickel toast. Glad to know there is nothing wrong with stove. All this time it must have been in low when we had the cold temps and all that time! It still kept the camp in the 40s when it was 5 degrees out! I had it in low/high mode so no stat connection, stayed in low. Glad I did not have it in on/off mode then. LOL

Gas...I looked at the manual for your stat and it doesn't mention anything about what Mike said. You might need to give Honeywell a buzz and ask them.

just remember to bookmark that test off my website when you get the new stat (if needed) its a simple way to check the system without having to start the stove up and see if it works.

BTW this test will work on any digital board we produce even the old style non igniter board though they have a different way of accessing it. anyone who wants to do this check on a 03 or older board PM me for instructions as i do not have a set up on the website but i can easily type them out if requested

This stove is cranking the heat now! Front room with stove and all those windows is already 65. It is about 20 outside with slight breeze.

 

its a screamin heater, im running one at home right now, holding 74F in the house running on a stat on off set for 3-9
i suspect you will be able to bring her down to a lower setting soon and just let her cruise

 

Bingo...that stat is for a 24v. system....wrong one Gas. Just twist the wires together at the wall, take that one back and get a millivolt unit. Many of us have the LUX brand and have great success, but any millivolt unit should work.

 

Do yourself a favor and get something like this.....easy to use, has large swing settings, not too $$...Approx $35 at Lowes:
