    I'm also in the exact same boat.....except it's different.........and it's not a boat.:headbang:
Ok, I'm in a similar situation with the new-ish NC30. Really looking forward to all the reports from owners of new stoves.

    Just measured for ya' @Huntindog1.
It's 20" to the air booster in the front and 22.5 to the very front of the box.
20" wide, and about 12.5 -12.75 to just under the 2ndary tubes.
It's not really a 3.5 cu.ft. box unless you take out the firebrick, but if you do that, it's actually closer to 3.75.
    I don't plan to burn w/o the brick.:D

I roughly measured the Myriad firebox is 21.5" to the front of the box to the door. Its 18.5" Wide.
Its firebox height is 13" tall to bottom of stainless steel baffle.
I use a 18 to 20 inch split loaded North South.

I keep thinking I should make my splits longer, but I haven't yet.
I could fit 18"-19" in there N/S quite easily.

Probably right after I convince SWMBO...which isn't looking real good considering the weather!

The weather's the reason you need it.

Are you considering that stove and what do you have now?

I sure am. Right now I have a Lopi Answer in the living room on the main floor of a 2700sqft ranch style house built in '91/92. The main floor accounts for just over half that sq footage so right now I heat the basement, where the kids' bedrooms are, with a Daka furnace type wood stove in a custom walkout basement "enclosure". For the next heating season I'd like to have either the Answer or a Myriad/NC30 downstairs and the "other" one upstairs in the living room. I have yet to determine which configuration would be preferable since the house is so divided up except for the living/kitchen/dining room. After the SIL moves out though we'll at least be able to have all the doors open so that should help. Right now I'm leaning toward putting the bigger stove downstairs and leave the Answer in the living room. For the rest of this season I'd really like to try a bigger stove in the living room if nothing else to just try it out and get used to it. I'm on the fence between a Myriad and a NC30 at this point.

Sam, so I guess the Lopi is a little on the small side and you want to get rid of the Daka.
Is the Daka a lot bigger then the one you replace it with no matter what you put down there?
NC 30 and the Drolet (which is what I have) are probably very close in operation but the NC30 meets the new EPA regs (not sure how you feel about that) and the NC 30 has the removable baffle.
Hoping the baffle in my Drolet lasts many years with out a problem, I have heard of some people not being careful and breaking their baffle in the NC30 but not a problem if careful loading I believe and some have found a way to make a cheaper baffle if needed.

Yep, I finally figured out why some with the 30 talked about damaged baffles. They sit on top of the tubes and can be dinged if a poker or a split hits 'em.
Mine have a very few small dings, but nothing major.
I wouldn't put anything in as a replacement baffle that wasn't solid. I think a piece of lose insulation material might get sucked up into the flue with a strong draft.
No experience with that, so pure conjecture.
I'm surprised the Myriad's baffle isn't removable. I guess it must be pretty substantial and won't get damaged or warp easily.

The Daka is pure overkill (and a smoke dragon, not that it matters where I live but I'd like to be at least semi-responsible) If I could get it hooked into our central HVAC it would make it more tolerable but that's nearly impossible without a ton of renovating mainly because our furnace room is a long ways from the walkout wall and the basement is fully finished. Add into the equation that I'm trying to do upgrades to the house that add value for a new owner in 5 years and I want to limit the scope of my projects all while keeping my living expenses (heating in this case) as low as possible. I'm resigned to having two stoves to heat this joint properly so now it's just a matter of which stove goes where really.

So what I'm hearing is that these stoves are very closely matched but the Myriad may have the advantage when it comes to baffle durability. I think that's enough to sway my decision toward it just for the fact that I'm not always the one loading and maintaining the stoves and it's hard to explain to teenagers and SWMBO that they need to be mindful of things when the interior of a stove can look like the gates of hell and how could you possibly damage that?

I'm going to apply the full court press on the wife tonight and see if I can convince her that we need to pull the trigger. Wish me luck! Oh, and I'm open to any further opinions/questions/suggestions on the matter as well, thanks!

Or for when you have a measurement challenged friend helping with firewood procurement and some are 27" and others are 10"! I really gotta get his eye better calibrated someday.
