I really don't have the space, but a little while ago I answered a CL 'free firewood' ad offering large rounds of dead oak, with an invitation to request pics via email. So, I requested. This is the photo I got back. I may cry.
Yep, you need a big truck. Several trips in a smaller vehicle would work too, so don't pass up that deal.
Go get a truck, but not a brand new one. Otherwise you will worry about nicking up the bed, and when that new truck honeymoon is over, id have gotten that wood already. Now stop reading this and go get one!
Storage space at home is the bigger problem. If I had a place to put it I would absolutely find a way to move it. I'll grab a small load or two if I can, but that's where it'll have to stop.
Think outside the box. Piece together the bucked up oak, like a giant vertical puzzle. Just claim its a totem pole, boom, done!
Home Depot rents. Grab the goods. C/S/S. Sit back surf for the truck you want at your leisure. Storage space no big deal.
It's not fire wood. It is raw materials for his artistic carvings of totem pole tributes to the fertility gods of the Lesser Pygmy Indians of West-Outer-Bumfrickistan. Wouldn't want to up set the fertility gods of the Lesser Pygmy Indians of West-Outer-Bumfrickistan now would we?
Where there's a will there's a way I don't think your wife and neighbors would complain about a new patio set? I still see exposed walls on your place. Or how about a little interior decorating?
