With all the snow we've had up here, I really needed drift cutters to make wider paths. I have an older Toro 720 snow blower. I worked some homemade jobbers from some galvanized garage door rails. I have a few pieces for a project, but I did not need the radiuses at the top. I cut them off and made relief cuts on the radius. I took a heavy hammer and cold formed them over on my small anvil to flatten them out. I used a lighten ball peen to make a crisp edge. I wire brushed them at the cuts and welded them for a little more strength. I bolted them at a lower angle on the scoop. These worked really good. The snow here is pretty light with bigger clumps from the road plows. They had enough stiffness to cut through. This drift is in front of next years pile.
