Looks delicious. Bread's most important features are smell, taste and texture. Looks don't matter at all.
I think I shall make something with the venison burger we ground up this weekend. Not sure if I'll go with plain patties or maybe go with a nice meat sauce for pasta. So many great options...
A basic hearty turkey noodle soup with vegetables and a grilled cheese sandwich. I am a sandwich dunker.
I've always made English Cuts (Shoulder area) in the crock pot for my roasts. I can barely pick up the meat because it falls apart. Love it.
Cooked some steaks last night. I tried the reverse sear, I smoked the steak for an hour then threw it on a wood fired grill to finish it off. Turned out pretty good but I am still fine tuning the process. I also made stuffed shrooms, smoked sausage, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese and smoked havarti cheese as the filler. My wife made twice baked potatoes and asparagus. This morning I enjoyed the leftover food. I made an omelette with cheese and some smoked bacon on the inside, a little steak and a twice baked potatoe.
Looks great!! Those mushrooms sound fantastic and of course same goes for a good steak I havnt tried the reverse sear all that often. I have had great luck with a 90 second sear on each side above 700 degrees, then remove from the heat for about 20 minutes while bring the temp back to about 400. Then back on for 4-5 minutes each side until cooked to our liking. I bet the reverse sear gives a nice crisp blackened result which I do like alot.

A hearty homemade chicken and noodle stew to chase a snowy winter night away. Leftover buttered potato roll. The easy chair is calling.
